So @papadube is having his lobes sewn shut! Such a sad day for the both of us but I really want to say this…

My husband is an incredible man. He is one hard working man that would do anything for his family. I have watched this man go from being a warehouse worker to a man in a suit working in an office selling thousands/nearly millions of dollars worth of material to companies like NASA and Navy.

The thing that I enjoy watching is the excitement he gets when he’s landed a huge sale, he isn’t even on commission, but it’s wonderful to see him love his job. With the exception of the shitty days of course. all in all.. I watch him strive and push himself harder and harder and the more they give him, the more he pushes for bigger and better. It’s so rare you see people who continue to push even when they’re in a place that they could sit comfortably in life.

So the deal with his lobes is that, they asked him to do it. They never said he HAD to. But, they asked. And although at first we did not agree that he should have to change his appearance to move up in this company. Especially since his ears aren’t affecting his ability to work. Well, he came down to the conclusion that in the end, letting something like that go is going to prove to them that he is serious, obviously very serious. And at the end of the day, a bigger opportunity, a career opportunity is worth much more than having stretched lobes, in hhis opinion. Obviously he knows if he decided not to, I would support him either way.

Now we don’t agree that it should have to be done. Because this day in age, we see by now that body mods shouldn’t affect whether or not you move up in a business. But, unfortunately it’s reality and it has a huge impact in some cases. and welp…. in my husbands case it’s something they expect. After But, the good part is we weighed out the pros and cons and this is the best way to go.

I am so proud of you @papadube for doing all that you do and I am so fucking thankful for having you. You’re truly amazing. I love you, babe.
